The Ansonia Housing Authority (AHA) is a public agency that helps people who meet income and other eligibility guidelines secure affordable, safe and quality housing in the City of Ansonia. We are governed by a board of five commissioners, all of whom are from our community and have been appointed by the mayor. The AHA is one of 3,400 public housing authorities operating in the United States. Like other housing authorities, we comply with all federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements in the development and operation of our housing programs. Our Mission The Housing Authority of the City of Ansonia seeks to increase equal opportunity and access to decent, safe, affordable housing free from discrimination, support community development, economic opportunity and self-sufficiency, expand home ownership and educational opportunities and participate in community rebuilding though lower densities, modern housing and integration of socioeconomic groups.
